Last week I had the great pleasure of attending a Sigur Ros show at the Copley Symphony Hall with my good friend Mr. Kirk "Resonate" Miller. We had a wonderful time, capped off by the fact that I won 2 tickets from FM 94.9, which gave us (free) awesome seats, autographed posters, and a little visit into the room to see their sound check/warm up session. It was so so so cool to get to be in the gigantic room, and see them practice a little with no one else there, besides the 15 or so of us. I took some pictures but haven't uploaded them yet.
Really there is no way to describe their live sound without having experienced it. I don't understand how they get some of the tones/sounds they get, especially out of just 4 guys. They didn't bring the string section on this tour, so it was a much more raw, even rockin', type of set list. The Symphony Hall was a great place to see them; the sound was pretty much flawless.
I found the setlist online, and for those of you who are fans, I took the liberty of writing in the record and track number for each song. If you're anything like me, you really have no idea what any of the songs are called anyway, so it's helpful. I also found a few cool, but overall poor quality live videos from the show. You can at least see how rad the accompanying light show was.
